our next project for our house is to refinish our double entry doors...and i'm terrified. 
we've been dying to do this from the moment we saw our house. back in the day when we were exhaustively looking to buy a home, these front doors were the first sign that something great was beyond them. well it's now time to make them great! they're pretty beat and desperately need a makeover. we hope to send them out soon to be dipped&stripped and in the meantime we're looking into door handles since we'd need to make some modifications before the door is sanded, repaired, and painted. on closer inspection we discovered that the doors have been cut down to fit the space horizontally. which means very few handle will even fit. great! the research continues.

B U I L D I T G R E E N

we've gone to the queens location of Build It Green a bunch of times but now there's one just a few blocks away. Not like we need anything but it's fun to cruise around. They basically take donations from people who are renovating their homes and also take leftover building materials (there's 2 entire kitchens for sale!). In the past we've bought doors and donated some basement windows that came in the wrong size. This one had a bunch more furniture and books and thrift store-type things (too much in my opinion) but i guess when you  have a space this big you can welcome it all!
