this is mimi who lives at the organic/helathy deli on court street.  she's super friendly and sleeps in the fruit boxes outside on nice days....the loudest purr i've ever heard.

well...not really our neighborhood...but this store very well should be in our neighborhood! walking around brooklyn heights sunday, we came upon this absolutely amazing store called Holler & Squall : Things Unlimited (71 Atlantic Avenue).
I have to say it was one of the most beautifully styled and set up store i've ever been in, carefully curated and endlessly fascinating. The owner (who opened the shop with his wife 2 yrs ago) describes his shop as “Collectible oddities, antique industrial, something for everyone.” I could have bought a ton of things in here...but i'll show you what we did buy.

Definitely makes you do a double take the first time you see it. I really love the effect....it's almost hypnotic.
