after the big nyc fabric hunt last weekend i may just wind up buying something online...which seems crazy. i did order some samples so that may be the deciding factor. in the meantime chris had some fun with photoshop to try some of the patterns we like on the chair we bought on craigslist and are picking up this weekend.

now that we've found the coolest chair to cover with cooler fabric, we're on the hunt to find that perfect fabric. which is harder than i thought it would be. ironically, being in the center of the fabric and fashion universe makes it hard to find exactly what we want. there's just too many stores with too much cheesy fabrics...not the graphic, modern prints we're searching for. 
saturday we went to Mood (of project runway fame) and it was clear right from the start why everyone goes here (i'm not talking about tourists). the draw is that things are actually organized! imagine that! going into a fabric store where you can see just about everything right from the aisle because it's displayed out in the open...and not buried under 6 bolts of fabrics that you have to dig through.
it was fun to look around but we didn't really find what we were looking for.
i'm thinking i'll wind up ordering something online, as if i live in topeka kansas!

we've been thinking about getting a cool vintage chair and re-upholstering it for a bit (inspiration thanks to sarah's house on hgtv!). we've found a killer chair which we'll pick up next week. now it's onto a cool, modern fabric to upholster it with. this is gonna be tough.

can you tell we're itching to do something with this living room? the rest of our house is pretty much done and renovated...and awesome. except our living room. this is the last room to be worked on and the one we spend most of our time in! the plan is to "just" refinish the walls, floors, ceiling all while trying to preserve the look of all of the ornamantal moldings that are so great. maybe in the spring ;-)
so in the meantime we move stuff around. we have a good start here...just need a few things to complete
the look.
