G O W A N US O P E N S T U D I O S

this past weekend was the Gowanus Open Studios event where a ton of artists right here in the neighborhood a few blocks away (surrounding the gowanus canal) open up their studios for nosey people like ourselves. its so much fun to see some amazing art (and not so amazing) right in the studio where it is created.

while visiting my sister in northern virginia she took us to this absolutely amazing salvage store. not only did they have a great selection of vintage items from old houses but it was incredible how organized it was....something you'd never see in new york. the items displayed were almost art forms themselves.

we finally had some gorgeous photos taken of the baby while we were away in california in july. the photographer, renee hindman, shot us all at sunset in an empty field in carlsbad (part of san diego) and they came out so lovely. i was completely nervous being that it was right at madelyns bedtime but she had a blast.
